Intro Vaser 4D liposuction surgery
A slender fit body is always considered the gold standard of beauty. Our body shape is influenced from what our diet consists of, how much exercise we get, what we do for a living but also from our genes. Mother nature quite often dictates that we all have some local fat deposits , resistant to diet and exercise.
Today there is a large number of people that “do everything right” , eat well and exercise often, but they still can not get the body shape they want. That group of people are not obese, their BMI (The body mass index (BMI) or Quetelet index is a value derived from the mass (weight) and height of an individual.
The BMI is defined as the body mass divided by the square of the body height, and is universally expressed in units of kg/m2, resulting from mass in kilograms and height in meters.) is less than thirty and their average body fat percentage 20-25%.
In the past years liposuction was considered an operation of mass fat removal. We would patients in surgery and aggressively would try to remove any excess fat deposit, hoping to also improve shape. That approach worked well for lots of patients but didn’t actually helped patients that were seeking for detail.
Vaser 4D liposuction surgery
The advent of technology in fat fragmentation, along with new more precise instrumentation and special training allows surgeons today to really give our patients detailed definition like never before. In well selected patients we can reveal the underline musculature in a way that diet and exercise will never do.
Vaser 4D is a unique way of approaching liposuction. it was originally described as Vaser Hi-Def by Alfredo Hoyos in Colombia. At first the main treatment area was the abdomen. But then Dr Hoyos noticed that his patients were looking well shapped on the abdomen but that look didn’t match the rest of their physique.
So Vaser 4D was the natural evolvement as now we deal with the whole upper half of the body. Back, pectorals and deltoids are all treated in order to create a balanced result. Special instrumentation is needed to perform surgery but most importantly we surgeons must undergo a special intense training provided by Dr Hoyos.
When a patient first hears about Vaser 4D usually things that some fat will be added on his abdomen that will make him look like having a 6-pack. That’s far from the truth….and that’s why its not for everybody. In Vaser 4D we use the Vaser device in a very aggressive way.
The Vaser is an ultrasound generator. Its the third generation of similar devices, its very safe and effective. To put it simple it helps us surgeons melt the fat, the advantage being, easy and precise removal.
With the use of Vaser we can treat effectively the superficial fat. Unlike other technologies like laser lipo, vibrating lipo and radiofrequency lipo, surgeons can touch the most difficult area of fat deposits and trully sculpt the body. Superficial was always a dreaded area for liposuction as if its liposucted agressively it can produce dimples or even damage the skin surface. But by using Vaser we are able to disrupt the fat cells from the clusters they form and then evenly remove them.
That produces a controlled deflation of the skin, that makes it shrink in the areas we want it to.
So by creating grooves and shadows in a very controlled and precise way we can scuplt the body in a way that only hard diet and exercise do. The surgery lasts 3-4 hours and is performed under general anesthetic. Drains are used at the end of the surgery.
A special garment is worned after surgery. You need to stay in hospital the day of the operation. The first week of recovery can be difficult as you may feel heavily bruised.
Lymphatic massages are very important as they will reduce the swelling that follows the operation. The results will be evident after 3-6 months as the swelling will gradually go down and form will revealled.
No surgery is substitute for a balanced diet and exercise. Long term results are to be expected if you just have abalnce in your life.
